1 Kings 3:24-28
Solomon's greatness in this passage did not begin in the throne room. It began in prayer. He knew the responsibility before him was greater than his mental ability. That humility opened the door for God's wisdom to work through him.
Notice that Solomon's wisdom resulted in the child being protected. The final outcome was not destruction but restoration. The baby was returned to his true mother and the people of Israel reconciled that the wisdom of God was in Solomon to administer judgement.
When Solomon said, “Give the living baby to the first woman. Do not kill him; She is his mother,” he shared that true wisdom knows how to protect what God values. Life mattered more than an argument. Compassion mattered more than possession. Justice mattered more than NOISE.
The good news is the same God who gave Solomon wisdom still gives wisdom today. He gives it to those who ask with sincere hearts. He gives it for the hard conversations, and the difficult choices. His wisdom will always pour through when we invite him into the conversations with ourselves.
