My Marriage Protection

Let's just get to the point today, how well are we protecting our marriage? Do we give 110% effort to protect them at all cost? I hate to compare marriage to a game of football, but think of the Detroit Lions offensive side of the ball. The quarterback is protected by his line, that is their sole job. You often see quarterbacks going out of their way to make sure his linemen are cared for. The same thing is true in your marriage. I believe there are 4 points as spouses we should try to thrive in.

Protect your covenant through faithfulness
Protect your connection through regular communication
Protect your intimacy through mutual care and respect
Protect your home through prayer together

As believers we should be doing everything we possibly can to protect our covenant at all cost as it is THE MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP outside your relationship with Jesus Christ. So how do we do that well?

Protect Faithfulness: Bounce your eyes, set boundaries with the opposite sex.
Protect connection: Communicate with your spouse! Have weekly touch points with what is expected and upcoming.
Protect your Intimacy: Paul writes that believers are to fulfill their marital duties.
Protect your home: Do you pray for your spouse? Do you pray together?

God designed marriage to be protected through mutual love, commitment, communication, prayer, and intimacy. Protection isn't passive—it requires intentional choices from both spouses.
