Romans 12:2
“2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
How often do we let ourselves get caught up in the things of this world? Too often, we fill our minds with how we feel and what we hear from the news or social media. We allow it to change how we view things and the opinions we have. We must remember that our flesh is weak. Our hearts and minds are easily swayed. We must look to absolute truth from God’s Word alone to guide us.
Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?”
When we read the Bible, it helps us not to conform to the patterns of this world. It transforms and changes our minds. The way we think and view things. We need to look at things through the lens of the Bible and not our own eyes or feelings. The Bible even tells us that we cannot trust our own hearts and feelings. It is easily deceived and tricked! Being led by the Bible is the only way that we can truly know God and what He wants for us.
How often do you read the Bible? How important is it to you? Do you let it transform you? Are you led by it?
How can you make reading the Bible a priority in your life now? Why should you?
