People Are Paying Attention

I don’t know about you, but I often find myself “people watching” when out in public. You never know what you will see so it's never the same. Just like snowflakes, we are all different. How we hold things, to standing, to interactions all vastly different. We all know we live in a very dark world and there is evil all around us. The mainstream media push the negative stories as normal and then when something good is reported it's a rare special. For myself, I can't stand paying attention to the news, I want to see the positive things in life and not always being fed the negatives, so I watch people. I love seeing families sharing a meal together laughing and smiling, a gentleman holding the door for an elderly person, the list goes on. I found that when I focus on the “good” things others around me are doing, it helps me stay encouraged for the future generations. We all know that how we act, what we say or don't say, affects those around us. Let’s be honest here for a second, I am not the only one who people watch, right!? Well, we can possibly even trace that back to the days of Paul.

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.Acts 16:25

When Paul and Silas were in prison, they remained faithful, they continued to worship and praise God for his goodness. Those around them watched this. People are paying attention! The people are easily your family members, neighbors, and even complete strangers.  As born-again Christians we need to remain faithful as well, and live out our faith. We need to be bold and confident for the truth, we need to live a life honoring to Christ. Sometimes our biggest testimony is how we handle the hardest things we face. People are watching and we need to show them that our faith in Jesus Christ can be a joy filled life, a life that will have trials and temptations, a life that we know whole heartedly that God is in control. We then may get the chance to share with them the Love of Christ.
