Romans 8:28-30
We serve a great and awesome God! He is a Father who knows everything, created everything, and has an eternal love that has no beginning and no end. I think that so many people go through life asking, what is their purpose? People can spend their lives asking, is this all there is? Is there a reason why I am even here? So many movies and other things are about people who have lost a sense of purpose until someone, or something, comes up in their lives and fills that hole in their lives. These kinds of stories connect so well with the audience because we love watching someone who has seemingly lost themselves because of losing any sense of purpose, “come back to life” by reconnecting to a calling.
God sent Jesus for all people! Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins and all who believe in Him are justified by the blood of Jesus Christ! Our Father knows best! He knows best because he was the one who created us, and he created us with a purpose in mind, His own purpose! Each person is created intentionally by the grace of God, and that purpose is to glorify God! We have been called according to His purpose! Movies of people finding a sense of purpose are enjoyable to watch because of their relatability. Because we as people need a sense of purpose. That purpose is truly only found when we realize what the Lord our God has done for us on the cross! He saved us! He gives us the ability to have a relationship with our Father, and we have His Word to help guide us and show us what we are to do, and what our purpose as His children is.
The sad thing to me about those movies is that all the purposes you see are temporary. Sure, it works great for a two-hour film, but life is more than a movie. The things of this world are temporary. They fade away, and any purpose that comes from the ideals of this world will all fade away and may seem unimportant for years down the road. But the one thing that never fades away is what Jesus has done for those who believe! He has justified us! He has glorified us through His Son! God knows best and he knows our every need and purpose! Praise the Lord for sending His Son for us!
