Intentional Praise

Nehemiah 12:27-30

The wall has been built! Praise the Lord! After building the wall, the Levites came back to sing praise to the Lord and worship the Lord. They are having a time with intentional praise. God is good, He helps us with our needs, and has done so much for us. We are coming into a month where we focus specifically on Thanks. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We take time to gather together, enjoy some food, some football, and spend time enjoying each other’s company. It is amazing in this passage that the Israelites did not forget who to give thanks to. When life becomes so busy or full of so many problems, we can forget to give praise. I appreciate that we have a season of thanks in this country. What we are to do as Christians is remember who we are to give thanks to. God is the one who takes care of us, even when things are hard, or even when we think He is not. In these times, it can be especially difficult to have intentional praise. When we feel down, when we feel like God is not there, or when we feel abandoned, it can be difficult to want to give praise. These are the times when we have to be intentional! It is easy to thank God when things are easy, when I am sitting on my front step watching my kids play and holding my son, it is easy to give praise. When it is difficult is when we must be intentional and remind ourselves to still give praise to God! Give thanks and praise to God this Holiday Season.
