Grace Inspires

If you did not read my devotional from last week, I told you all a little bit of my salvation story. Fittingly this week, the passage of scripture reminds us to remember what God has done, and to remember that it is only by him and through him that we have anything—the very breath in our lungs is God’s grace towards us. As much as I would love to go into deeper detail of my own story of salvation as a call for each of you reading to recall the goodness of God in your life, and to share about how God’s grace should inspire us to live boldly for him, I want to use this moment to honor someone else’s life.

A few short hours ago, I received the news that a friend entered into the loving and healing arms of Jesus, a battle of cancer beautifully fought, and now forever in Heaven. She touched the lives of many with her hospitality and generous spirit. I went on her Facebook page to just read the stories of loved ones’ grieving, and I kept scrolling and scrolling. In her yearlong battle of cancer, aside from the pictures of family moments, almost every post was bible scripture after bible scripture. She lived faithfully until the very end—one of her last posts was a message, a plea, a call to accept Jesus as Savior. What a way to leave this world behind! Her children, her husband, all her friends and family, will forever be able to look back and remember how she honored and praised God until her dying breath.

You see, my salvation story, my friend’s story, and YOUR story are so important to share. People around you are watching, listening, and many are searching……so let them watch you live faithfully for the Lord, let them hear your words of praise and YOUR story, let them find God in you! When people see and hear the grace of God in your life, it will inspire them—even if it is just simple questions that plant seeds. Our lives are not meant to live for ourselves, it is to live for God and proclaim what he has done in and through you.

In the scripture for today, the Israelites were standing on the banks of the Promise Land. God was urging them to remember what God did for them, how he brought them out of Egypt, how he is giving them this wonderful land to live. God was using his past grace upon them, to inspire them to live for him now and in the future. There is a lot more to this moment, so I urge you to read it for yourselves, because it is a really cool story.

God’s grace ALWAYS inspires. Reflect on your story, remember what God did in you and where you are now. Now, be bold, SHARE IT—and let God use your story to inspire others to know our mighty God.
