The VIP Section

I don't know about you but every event I go to, no matter what it is, I try and find the VIP section and ponder the question—how much do those tickets cost? For some of us maybe we have been lucky enough to sit in those VIP seats, with the play or the game happening just inches away! When sitting there you feel a sense of you are a part of it. During my college days I had the privilege to attend multiple different sporting events and sit in the “VIP” section, that's right I put that in quotations because I was a broke college student, not a very important person. However, during each time I attended, rather it be standing in the tunnel of a hockey game or sitting in the front row at a basketball game, I wanted to jump out of my chair and be in the game. Rewind many years ago, the Shepards were in the VIP section, and they got to be a part of the biggest day in history, the birth of our Lord and Savior.  Luke 2:8-14 tells us that while the Shepards were in the fields at night, an angel appeared to them and told them that the birth of Jesus was happening in the city of David. Then a band of angels appeared worshiping the newborn king. Here, they are sitting in the VIP section of angels, but if you continue reading on, they drop what they were doing and travel to see this amazing site! They became part of the story,

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”

As you take time today to pray, let us remember the greatest day in the history of the world, the birth of our Savior!
