Main Point and Overview:
Who will you and I be voting for in the upcoming presidential election? While, we all have personal preferences; what if we qualified our decision with Biblical precepts. It is absolutely true that there are no perfect candidates, and this year, some would argue there are no good choices. While that may be true in a sense, there are Biblical principles that should govern the life of every professing follower of Jesus. What I am asking you to do is to set aside your emotions and preconceived opinions and to consider what would best support your Biblical worldview. While that may appear to be complex, when you put the “sanctities of life, marriage, Israel, religious freedom, and church responsibility” into focus, hopefully, God will show you what you are supposed to do. No matter what choice you make, one thing is abundantly clear, Jesus is sovereign! No matter who wins this election, it will not take Jesus by surprise or disjoint his plans for your life or our church. The Gospel of Jesus is what drives Emmanuel, and we will march forward with our purpose of “making passionate disciples” no matter who is the next president of the United States. With that said, there is a lot at stake for our children and grandchildren in the days to come. We need to be people of faith who live unapologetically by the Word of God. Will you pray for our country? Will you boldly proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ? We don’t need reactive anger; we need responsive admonition of absolute truth. Let the Word of God be your “voter’s guide!”
