Philippians 4:8
In today’s world, we have an ease of information. Almost everyone has access to a phone, and with this, the ability to scroll on the internet. I believe we live in a time where it is very difficult to follow the command of this verse. We have constant access to events happening all over the world and the ability to search for anything and one second later be filled with things that are not lovely, pure, or noble. Now, the flip side to this is we also have access to many things that are what God’s Word tells us to meditate on. It is up to us to know the difference and choose what we are going to focus our hearts and minds on. And as a Christian, God has given us His Word and the Holy Spirit as our Helper to understand what those things are! He has also given us many things simply for us to enjoy! My daughter Vivian (I know I mentioned her last week as well, but I am just following what the verse says!) kept telling me all week at Lake Ann, “God created this beautiful world for us, didn’t He, daddy.” A big part of rejoicing is the ability to focus our minds and hearts, just as this verse states, on the things we are told to focus on. Rejoice! And keep your heart on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, and praiseworthy!
