Philippians 4:4
Wow! What an amazing God we have! I spent the last week at Lake Ann camp, and what an amazing time to write about having joy in everything. It was amazing to be up here and hear the voices of joy from my children praising the Creator on how beautiful His creation is. Of course, it is not always easy to have joy in everything. Life is difficult many times, and it can be easy to be down or feel alone. It is always amazing to me that the book of joy (Philippians) was written by Paul while he was in prison! His Joy was not dependent on his circumstances, but rather it was in the Lord. My oldest, Vivian, said to me earlier as we were hiking at Lake Ann, “Daddy, God made this beautiful world for us, didn't he? But you know what is even better than that? Jesus died on the cross for our sins! No other friend would do that for us.” Take it from the words of a seven-year-old. Jesus is our Joy! I say it again, rejoice!
