Joshua 1:7-9
When you think about a leader, they are often the go-to person when you don't have the answer or know what to do in a situation. Leaders must be ready to face anything and everything that comes their way. As a husband, I am to lead my family; as the leader at the Grand Blanc Campus, I am to lead the members of the church well. There come times when things are not always going as we may have planned, and in those moments, a leader must be able and willing to adapt. I love what Joshua 1:7-9 tells us,
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Think about this for a minute. When things are going off the rails and you are the one in charge, what is your first instinct? Go back to the basics! Joshua tells us to be strong and courageous, meditate on the word daily! So, when times get tough, you are able to remain calm and make the right choice. Are you willing to have courage as a leader? Are you willing to remain calm and firm on the word when you are put in a position or face pressure from the lost to allow for worldly views in your area of leadership? As we go forward in our week, let us remember to be in the word daily, meditate on the truth, so we then can remain faithful when the attacks come.
