Real Wisdom

1 Corinthians 2:6-9
Have you ever been absolutely convinced you were right—only to discover you were spectacularly wrong? Maybe you sent a text to the wrong person, searched everywhere for your glasses while they were on your head, or confidently put together furniture only to end up with "extra" pieces. Human wisdom can be a little overrated!

In today's passage Paul writes to the church in Corinth and reminds them that God's wisdom is on a completely different level. While we're trying to figure out life with limited information, God sees the whole picture. We celebrate our clever ideas, but God's plans are so much greater that "no eye has seen, no ear has heard" what He has prepared for those who love Him.

Just like in the beginning we often think we know something 1,000% just to be left confused at the end. For me, it’s the finishing a furniture assembly just to be left scratching my head wondering how I have so many pieces left over. Did I skip a step? Did I use the wrong screw? I also end with well they must have packed extra parts.

I encourage all of us to seek real wisdom, the type that understands God has a much bigger picture than what we see in front of us or what our minds can even understand. I have heard it said, “When I think I know it all, that's usually when I need God's wisdom the most.” Let today be a new beginning. Rather than wanting things to be right all the time we need to learn to trust in God’s perfect plan for our lives. Sometimes we want God to hand us the answers, but He wants us to trust His wisdom—even when we don't understand the whole plan.

Real Wisdom is greater than our wisdom.
