2 Chronicles 15:8-15
Worship the Lord wholeheartedly! Asa heard the word from the Lord and listened! He was told to seek the Lord, and he was willing to do so. Not only did he do so, but through his leadership so did the nation! He took what he had heard, heeded it in his heart, and decided to do whatever He needed to do in worship of the Lord. God calls us to worship him and what really sticks out to me about this passage is how his leadership inspired the nation. They saw that the Lord was with him and realized that this is a man of God that they can follow! The nation came behind him in trust for the Lord. In our own lives we have people that follow us. All of us, whether we want them to or not, have people who look up to us. We have people that will heed our example at work, at home, at church, and even at school. People are watching! People do see how you either put trust in God or in things that cannot bring peace and joy. As a parent, my children are some of the main people I have influence over. How I talk, how I react when I am angry or frustrated, what I allow myself to do or not do, all have an effect on them. No one is perfect and God does not call for us to be perfect, but we are to try our best to follow Him. Paul tells us to follow his example as he follows Christ. We all choose to follow someone. Who do you follow? Social media has even taken that term to use as we watch people for their content online. We “follow” or “subscribe” to people that we choose to follow. Who is it that you follow? Do you follow Christ as Asa does here in this passage? Take that extra step, bring your worship up to the next level, be someone who people can follow as you follow Christ!
