My Idols

Idols have no real power! What are the idols in our lives? Men have always wanted to put other things before God. We worship idols because we want to be able in some ways to worship ourselves or to give ourselves some choice or power over what we can worship. Our own selfishness wants us to forget about God and all that He has done for us. But the reality is God is the one who is sovereign overall and the one worthy of all worship. Anything can become an idol in our lives. An idol is simply anything that we put as a higher importance than God in our lives. What are the things in your life that seem to take over your thoughts, your time, your emotions? Have those things you focus on become too important to you? Do you care more about those things than people? We must be careful to protect our hearts and minds from making idols in our lives. Praise God for all that He has done and remember through Him all good things flow!
