Impact

This is such a short but powerful verse. Paul is urging his readers to follow him, but more importantly to follow Christ! When I think of this verse, I think about how I am leading my family. I want them to follow Christ, but I must be the example for them just as Paul is the example for me! Paul is the example to the believers. He spent his entire life as a believer doing whatever he could to spread the gospel! This is the example that Paul gives! He does his best to live a Christian life in service of a mighty God. He does this as someone who follows Christ. Who is it in your life that you tend to follow? Our culture gives many different kinds of examples. All people have others in their lives that they choose to follow. Unfortunately, many people in this world are bad examples. Our world has many different people that set examples. Even though everything looks great, they are still bad examples. The American dream is even something that we are told to seek after. This example of a perfect life, making lots of money, being successful, are not bad things. However, it is not our true purpose here on this earth! We exist to glorify God! This is the true purpose of all people as the image bearers of Christ. Sometimes though life is difficult, not all of us are the example to others that we want to be. We make mistakes, we do things that are just wrong, we lead people astray. This is where we have a God of such grace! Paul was not perfect, but he did his best in glorifying God, and this is what he has asked of us. He wants us to follow Jesus. Live for Him!ntegrity and faithfulness.
