The Choice

These verses are a great reminder that all things of this world are temporary. All things of this world will pass away. This includes us! In my own life I find it easy to long for the things of this world. I like good food, and the comfort of the A/C with this heat. And I think like most people, I like having a nice phone! We all enjoy our comforts, but this verse reminds us of how quickly we can lose those things that are important to us. If you are like me, you drop your phone all the time! I make the joke that I really do have great reflexes because when you are as clumsy as I am and drop things as much as I do, you need to be able to catch them! One drop of the phone is sometimes all it takes for that phone to no longer be as good as it was. You get a crack all the way down the phone and it's always way too expensive to just go replace. The things of this world can be taken from us at any moment! Christ says to store our treasures in heaven! It is so funny to me how much more difficult this is to remember, but our time on this earth is fleeting! Heaven is our true home. Our house, our things, everything that we believe we own, all these things are not a part of our true home and identity in heaven! God has given us so much to be grateful for! I am grateful for the A/C and the life God has given to me, but all of us must remember where our home really is. Our home is in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ! This is where we are to be truly storing our treasures. Work towards eternity, not the temporary. Praise the Lord that He has given us a place to be with Him forever!
