The Salvation Story of Cornelius

Acts 10

God is so good! The Salvation Story of Cornelius is truly an amazing one, full of the Spirit and the work of God, and how he works to take care of those who seek Him. The first thing we find out about Cornelius is that he is a God-fearing man, even as a Centurion. He is not a Jew; he did not grow up hearing and believing the same things as the Jews or hearing about Jesus, but God knew Cornelius feared him and needed Salvation. It is amazing how God works; He sends both men a vision, allowing them to meet. Cornelius and all the men around him end up believing in Jesus and accepting the Holy Spirit. There are two really awesome points that I see in this passage. First one being with Cornelius as a God-fearing man and the influence he has on others as such a man. He is well respected by those around him and well loved. What is so amazing about him and his leadership is that when Simon Peter comes and gives the gospel, this does not just have an influence on Cornelius, but everyone around him! The leadership that Cornelius led his entire household in finding the Lord! I think about this as a father and how I am raising my own family. I do not have servants or anything like that, but I am married with children who I want to grow and love the Lord. As the leader in my household, I need to lead in a way that proves who God is through using me as a tool to glorify him. My job as a husband is to love my wife! Cornelius’ influence as a God-fearing man helped lead others to Christ! The Second point is how God used this to show Peter and the other believers that Jesus died for all! He cares just as much for the Gentiles as he does for the Jews! Praise God for his saving power and the men who listened and followed Jesus and saw his love for all! Jesus died for all, and Cornelius and the others of his house are saved through his blood! God is so good and brings people together to help spread the Gospel. Remember, when you meet people, what is most important? People need Jesus. Cornelius is a God-fearing man, but he needed Jesus! The people around us need to know about Jesus! Spread the Gospel!
