Have you ever heard of the slogan “we are stronger together”? This slogan is often used to push an agenda of acceptance of Sin. From the secular viewpoint of multiple genders to LGBT+, we see this slogan everywhere. However, it's not limited to that. We often see groups of many kinds using this slogan to help unify their message to show the world what they believe or think. There is no difference as believes in Christ, we must be unified, not for our gain but for the glory of Jesus. When we are unified in the Gospel the world will learn of Jesus. Sarah and I often talk about the battle of preferences in the American Church. If we (believers in Jesus Christ) are so vocal about what we prefer, such as dress codes and music styles, the only thing that the world sees is us in constant arguments with those her prefer something else—what message are we sending?! Hear me out, there are things that should be debated and hold our ground to for the truth of the Bible. However, if we as believers are not unified in the Gospel, what message are sharing with the lost? John 17:20-23 tells us:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
Let us take a stand for the Gospel, let us find joy in our trials, let us come together and spread the hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Let’s put our preferences aside, and focus on the truth. When we come together, who knows what God is going to do with that!
